Ames National expands

Ames National Corporation of Ames, Iowa has chartered a new bank in Marshalltown, Iowa. United Bank & Trust National Association, opened its doors June 29 to become the fifth bank chartered in the community of 26,000 people. Four other banks have offices in the city, as well as four credit unions.
"We believe the Marshalltown community will be pleased with the sophisticated and affordable services provided by United Bank & Trust," said Leo Herrick, president. "The bank will be staffed with experienced personnel, including Kathy Baker, Mary Bryant, Wanda Evans, Mary Holland and Dale Ites."
The new bank is located in a temporary facility until a permanent building is ready next spring.
Members of the board are Keith R. Brown, Larry A. Raymon, Kevin L. Swartz, John S. Wise and Herrick.
United Bank & Trust is one of five banks affiliated with $654 million Ames National Corp.
