Senate confirms Treasury Secretary nomination
Northwestern Financial Review, Mar 1-Mar 14, 2003
The nomination of John Snow to become U.S. Treasury Secretary was put on the fast track, with the Senate unanimously confirming his nomination by voice vote. During the nomination process, Snow told the Finance Committee that he supports a strong dollar and pledged to push the United States' trading partners to do more to boost their economic growth.
He also spoke in favor of President Bush's economic growth proposal. Snow would succeed Paul O'Neill, who resigned December 6.
