Former Associated executive to lead F&M Bank

Former Associated Bank executive Randall Peterson has been named president and chief executive officer of F&M Bank-Wisconsin. F&M Bank is a subsidiary of Citizens Banking Corp., a $7.5 billion bank holding company operating Citizens Bank in Michigan and Illinois and F&M Bank in Wisconsin and Iowa. Citizens acquired F&M Bancorporation, Kaukauna, Wis., in 1999.

Peterson will head the business banking group for the F&M banks in Wisconsin and Iowa and Citizens Bank-Illinois. He will be responsible for the delivery of all commercial lending and treasury management services for the three banks.

Peterson, 57, spent 20 years with Associated Banc-Corp, a $15 billion bank holding company based in Green Bay. He retired as president of Associated Bank, Green Bay, in 2002. He was responsible for retail, private banking and community business banking for all the community banks in Wisconsin and Illinois.

* Bill Burger has been named the president of U.S. Bank in Iowa City, Iowa. A life-long lowan, Burger came to Iowa City 12 years ago as a senior vice president trust officer at First National Bank. He has continued as vice president of the U.S. Bank Personal Trust department where he specializes in estate planning and investment support. In addition to his role as market president, Burger will continue to serve his trust customers.

Burger began his new position on Feb. 26. He took over for Andy Coffelt, who took another position with the compnay in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

Burger is a graduate of the University of Iowa Law School in Iowa City. He is very active in community events. In 2001, the Iowa City Chamber of Commerce named him volunteer of the year.

* Gene Ekness of United Bankers' Bank in Bloomington, Minn., has been promoted to senior vice president of information technology. Ekness has been with UBB since 1991, managing the MIS division of the bank, and is a graduate of the Graduate School of Banking at the University of Wisconsin. Ekness's duties also include security officer.

* Security State Bank of North Dakota in Hannaford announced the following promotions:

Tom Watson has been named president. Watson was the senior vice president of lending. Watson has been with the bank for 12 years and has been in banking since 1978. Watson has a bachelor of science degree in business administration and accounting from the University of North Dakota, Grand Forks. Watson is also a certified public accountant and a graduate of Colorado School of Banking, Boulder.

Mark Brown remains chief executive officer. Brown served as president of the bank since 1988. Brown is a third generation descendant of the bank's founder, Arthur C. Brown, and has been in the banking industry since 1975. Brown is a graduate of the University of North Dakota, Grand Forks with a bachelor of science degree in business administration. Brown is also a graduate of the North Dakota School of Banking.

Harold Hagen has been promoted to chief financial officer from vice president and funds management team leader. Hagen has also been appointed a director on the board. Hagen has been with the bank for 17 years. Hagen has a bachelor of science degree in agricultural economics and business administration from North Dakota State University, Fargo and is also a graduate of the Colorado School of Banking, Boulder.

Cheryl Klinger has been named chief operations officer. Klinger is also vice president and cashier. Klinger has been in the banking field for 20 years and has been with Security State Bank for 18 months. Klinger has a bachelor of science degree in accounting from Moorhead State University, Moorhead, Minn.

Deb Lampert has been promoted to assistant vice president of marketing from marketing coordinator. Lampert has been with the bank since 1995. Lampert has a bachelor of science degree from Michigan State University, East Lansing.

Tammy Longnecker and DeeAnn Bock have been named consumer loan officers. Longnecker has worked in both operations and lending at the New Rockford location for three years and has an associate degree from Valley City State University, N.D. Bock has been with the bank for two years, where she has held different positions in the New Rockford, Carrington and Jamestown branches. Bock has a bachelor of science degree from North Dakota State University, Fargo.

* Jeffrey D. Lorenzen, CFA, has been promoted to senior vice president and chief investment officer at Amcore's Investors Management Group. Lorenzen is assuming the position vacated by Jay Evans, who retired March 31. Lorenzen brings a wealth of experience to the position, including more than 15 years as an investment professional. Lorenzen has worked at Investors Management Group since 1992 in increasingly responsible positions. He began his career at Investors Management Group as a fixed income manager and was named supervising fixed income manager in 2001. Lorenzen accepted an interim position in 2002 to chair the firm's management committee. Lorenzen has a master's degree in business administration from Drake University, Des Moines, Iowa, and his bachelor's degree in business administration from the University of Iowa, Iowa City. Lorenzen will continue to work from his West Des Moines, Iowa office.
