Northwestern Financial Review, Jul 1-Jul 14, 2003

Community Bank of Missouri has donated $10,000 to the endowment campaign for the Farris Theatre of Richmond, Mo. Built in 1901, the Farris is Richmond's central historic landmark and is recognized by the National Register of Historic Places.

The Farris Foundation, Inc. is a not-for-profit corporation, which has been established to raise funds to endow the theatre.

"The Farris Theatre is a rare gem and we are committed to doing our part to make sure this valuable asset remains a thriving institution in our community," said D.R. Landwehr, president of Community Bank of Missouri. "Without the Farris, many cultural events could not take place in Richmond. As a locally-owned bank, we feel it is important to take responsibility for the quality of life in our community."

From 1995 to 1999, Friends of the Farris, Inc. has worked to restore the theatre to its original splendor. Today, the theatre serves as a movie theater and auditorium.
