Ind. organizes education effort
Northwestern Financial Review, Jan 1-Jan 14, 2004
Last October, Indiana bankers went into high school classrooms, connected with youth groups and visited college campuses for the first annual Get Smart About Credit Day. Volunteers from Irwin Union Bank & Trust Company's Bloomington and Columbus offices alone reached more than 300 Hoosier youth in a single day, educating them about the wise use of credit.
Last July, the Indiana Bankers Association conducted a survey of members and found that in 2002, Indiana bankers reached potentially 40,000 men, women and children through consumer education programs.
