Former WBA exec dies at 62

Bryan Koontz, the executive vice president of the Wisconsin Bankers Association from 1971 to 1989, died July 23 of complications from leukemia. He was 62.
After his work at WBA, Koontz formed Association Resources Corporation, which provided legal and regulatory information to banker associations.
He was a trustee of the Graduate School of Banking at Madison, Wis., and was chairman of the State Association Division of the American Bankers Association. He also was involved in the formation of Banclnsure in the mid 1980s. The company was formed by the banking industry to sell directors and officers liability insurance.
At WBA, Koontz was involved with the formation of FIPCO, WBA's forprofit subsidiary.
