Northwestern Financial Review, Apr 15-Apr 30, 2005
Great Northern Bank, St. Michael, Minn., in conjunction with a local chapter of the Red Hat Society, collected several hundred items earmarked for military troops stationed in Iraq. Items collected included toiletries, pre-paid phone cards, single-use cameras, and non-perishable foods. Once packaged, the items were shipped to a U.S.
Marines unit stationed in Fallujah, Iraq. The collection drive was entitled, "A Little Bit of Home," and a bank spokesperson said similar drives will be conducted in the future.
