Local FWI chapter names its Woman of the Year

The North Central District of Financial Women International named Gail Mikolich, Northeast Bank, Minneapolis, as its 2005 Woman of the Year. Mikolich was recognized for her role as current president of the Twin Cities Metro Group of FWI. She has been an FWI member for 10 years and also served as group president in 1999-2000.

Mikolich began her career with Northeast bank 19 years ago and currently serves as its executive vice president and chief operating officer. Northeast Bank, a $330 million community bank, also was recognized by FWI as its 2005 Corporation of the Year. The bank has an extensive history of supporting women in the financial services industry. Led by owner Belva Rasmussen, Northeast Bank has filled 40 percent of its officer-level positions with women.
