Holthus honored with Bruning Award
Northwestern Financial Review, Oct 1-Oct 14, 2005
The American Bankers Association Center for Agricultural and Rural Banking will present Nebraska banker C.G. (Kelly) Holthus with its annual Bruning Award for his commitment to agricultural banking.
Chairman, president and CEO of Cornerstone Bank in York, Neb., Holthus will receive the award named for fellow Nebraska agricultural banker Frank Bruning at the North American Agricultural Lenders Conference, Nov. 13-16, in Omaha, Neb.
Holthus, who presented the first Bruning Award nine years ago, is a firm believer in customer service and says customers should be treated the way you like to treated. "It's very basic - we're in the people business," he said.
Since 1977, Holthus has served as president and CEO of Cornerstone Bank, which is family and locally owned. Holthus has served as chairman of the ABA and president of the Nebraska Bankers Association.
