Survey says interest in in-store banking is growing
Northwestern Financial Review, Aug 1-Aug 14, 2006
Synergistics Research Group has published poll results saying the likelihood of a typical consumer using an in-store bank branch is growing. The company surveyed 2,000 people across the country by telephone, asking whether they would use branches in a variety of non-traditional locations. About four in 10 said they would use a bank branch in a retail location, up from three in 10 who responded similarly in a survey conducted a year ago.
Survey results also revealed that about one in six consumers have used a branch in a retail location such as Wal-Mart. Usage of these non-traditional branch locations tend to be more widespread among younger consumers, ages 18 to 49 and middle income consumers.
