* Security State Bank of Warroad, Minn., announced John R. Heneman has been promoted to chairman of the board, Roderick J. Heneman to president, and Bruce Streich to vice president and cashier.

* John J. Letter has been named senior vice president and chief financial officer of Ameriana, New Castle, Ind. Letter replaces Bradley L. Smith, who has resigned to purse other interests.

Prior to joining Ameriana, Letter served as regional president, district president, and regional chief financial officer during his tenure with Old National Bank in Muncie, Ind. Letter also has been affiliated with American National Bank in Muncie as CFO and controller; with Muncie Federal Savings Bank as CFO and controller; and Pioneer Savings Bank in Racine, Wis., as CFO. Letter, a certified public accountant, began his professional career as an auditor for Ernst & Young. Letter has a bachelor's degree in business administration from the University of Wisconsin, Madison.

* First Bancshares, Inc., Mountain Grove, Mo., announced the appointment of Daniel P. Katzfey as new president and chief executive officer. Katzfey joined the bank on Nov. 20, 2006 as executive vice resident and chief lending officer. On Dec. 22, Katazfey was appointed interim president and CEO following the resignation of James W. Duncan as president and CEO. Katzfey joins the bank from Village Bank located in Springfield, Mo., where he had served as executive vice president and commercial lender since 2004. Katzfey has a bachelor's degree in finance from Missouri State University, Springfield.

* Kirk Gross Company, Waterloo, Iowa announced the following promotions:

Roger Clayton to vice president of Construction Services. He will be involved in the oversight of all aspects of the construction process. Clayton's career spans more than 35 years at Kirk Gross.

Mark Holst to general superintendent in the Construction Services Division. He will be involved in each construction project with supervision and oversight of all field personnel.

Holst will act as the liaison between the field personnel, subcontractors and architects with particular emphasis on quality control, project schedules and safety issues. Holst's career spans more than 12 years at Kirk Gross as a former carpenter and most recently as project superintendent.

* Terry Gere is retiring from Minnwest Bank, Ortonville, Minn., after serving as the bank's president since 1983. Scott Maas was named the bank's new president, beginning Feb. 1.

Gere started his banking career at Norwest Bank in Slayton, Minn., as an ag representative. He then transferred to Norwest offices in Tracy and Thief River Falls, Minn, before coming to Ortonville on May 1, 1983. Norwest sold the bank to Minnwest Bank in 1987.

* West Bank recently appointed Mike Boohar as first vice president and assistant general counsel at its main office in West Des Moines, Iowa. Boohar joins West Bank after serving as managing attorney for four years in the Des Moines office of Iowa Legal Aid. Prior to that, Boohar acted as assistant director for the Legal Aid Society of Polk County. Before coming to Iowa, he practiced law in Kansas privately and in the Public Defender's office. Boohar graduated from the University of Nebraska in 1982 with a bachelor of arts degree in political science. He received his law degree in 1985 from the University of Kansas.

* Bankers' Bank of Madison, Wis.t closed 2006 by announcing the promotion of nine employees:

Carol Wanserski was promoted to senior vice president/controller from first vice president/controller;

Rose Davis was promoted to first vice president from vice president;

Samuel Devine was promoted to first vice president from vice president;

Barbara Gross was promoted to first vice president from vice president;

Richard Homan was promoted to first vice president/managing director from vice president/ managing director;

Steven LeCoultre was promoted to vice president from assistant vice president;

Jeffrey Niesen was promoted to vice president from assistant vice president;

Thomas Underkofler was promoted to vice president from assistant vice president; and

Carita Phillips was promoted to operations officer from operations specialist.

* Gateway Bank, Mendota Heights, Minn., announced:

Brian Maxwell was promoted to vice president.

Pamela LeVasseur was promoted to toller operations supervisor.

Jacqueline Young was promoted to credit officer.

* Andrew Cecere was named CFO at U.S. Bank, Minneapolis. Cecere will succeed David M. Moffett as vice chairman and CFO, effective Feb. 27. Cecere is currently vice chairman of wealth management for U.S. Bancorp, and has been in the position since 2001. Prior to that, Cecere served as CFO of U.S. Bancorp before its merger with Firstar Corp in 2001. Cecere has been with the company since 1985. Cecere has a bachelor's degree in finance from the University of Minnesota, Minneapolis, and MBA from the University of St. Thomas, St. Paul, Minn.

* First Business Capital Corp, Madison, Wis., promoted:

Cindy Meinholz to field examiner. Meinholz has worked in the hanking and investment field for more than eight years. Prior to joining First Business Capital Corp., Meinholz worked with the corporation's affiliates First Business Trust & Investment and First Business Bank. Meinholz has a bachelor's degree from the University of Wisconsin - Whitewater, in finance.
