* Harry Argue is retiring as president and CEO of the Graduate School of Banking at the University of WisconsinMadison. Argue has been the school's CEO since 2004, and has been a member of the GSB board since 1978. He was chairman of the board from 1998-2000.
The GSB Board has formed a selection committee to coordinate the search for its new president and CEO, who is expected to be present for the sessions next summer. The selection committee is being chaired by GSB Vice Chairman Mike Van Buskirk, president and CEO of the Ohio Bankers League.
* Former Marshall & Ilsley Bank President Tom Bolger began a new chapter in his banking career on Oct. 16 when he became Wisconsin market president for Harris Bank of Chicago.
Harris Bank named Bolger to the Wisconsin position on Oct. 1. Harris expanded into Wisconsin with the July purchases of Ozaukee Bank and Merchants and Manufacturers Bancorporation Inc.
Bolger worked for Milwaukee-based M&I for 34 years and retired in 2004 at age 53. M&I announced Bolger's retirement on the same day it named Mark Furlong as president. Furlong has since become M&I's chief executive officer.
Bolger joins Harris Bank from Park National Bank in Chicago, where he was president and CEO.
* Lake Area Bank in White Bear Lake, Minn., promoted Marc Campbell to president and chief operating officer. Campbell is a graduate of the University of St. Thomas, St. Paul, Minn., and is attending the Graduate School of Banking at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
* The Sherburne State Bank in Becker, Minn., announced the promotions of David Haugen to chief executive officer and Peter Haugen to president.
David Haugen has been with the bank 17 years. He is a graduate of the Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota, Minneapolis. Peter Haugen has 19 years of banking experience and is a graduate of St. Olaf College, Northfield, Minn., and the Graduate School of Banking at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
* Steve Graff has joined the staff of First National Bank of Waseca, Minn., as vice president of commercial and agricultural lending.
Graff is a graduate of Gustavus Adolphus College and has worked at banks in Owatonna, Long Prairie and Rush City.
* Jeffrey Jankowiak has joined Eagle Community Bank in Maple Grove, Minn., as assistant vice president of commercial lending. Jankowiak is a graduate of the University of Minnesota, Minneapolis, and the MBA Commercial Lending School.
