TAWPI 1998: Another successful year
Work Process Improvement Today, Dec 1998 by Graves, Dallas R
IN MANY WAYS IT SEEMS IMPOSSIBLE THAT THE YEAR IS ALMOST OVER. However, as I review all the tasks and accomplishments within TAWPI over the past twelve months, I am proud to have had the opportunity to participate in setting the direction for years to come.
As Acting President for six months, I owe a great deal of credit to the staff at TAWPI for their assistance and commitment to ensure that daily activities and the 98 Expo and Forum were handled in a professional and timely manner. The challenge did not end there; after six months of training and working with an acting President located in Texas, the staff was advised that the association had completed the executive search for a new President. TAWPI was very fortunate to attract an individual with extensive experience within the association industry. Linda O'Hara, formerly with NACHA, accepted the offer and was able to actively assume the duties of President of TAWPI, just in time for the Expo and Forum in July.

I want to thank each and every member and vendor of TAWPI for your support and attendance at the Expo and Forum in Chicago. It was one of the most successful in the history of the association. However, the commitment does not end here. The Board of Directors and the staff continue to develop programs and opportunities that provide the association's members with the tools and knowledge that address solutions and changes within the industry.
As Chairman of the Board this year, I had the privilege of working with a group of industry professionals that spent countless hours developing the future initiatives and directives of TAWPI. It was truly one of the most rewarding experiences in my life. I encourage every member of the association to become involved with one of the many committees at both the national and chapter level. The opportunity to obtain knowledge, share personal experiences and formulate solutions is invaluable.
In closing, I want to again thank the membership, Board of Directors and staff for all the support and understanding throughout the year. I look forward to what is already the making of a very busy agenda for TAWPI in 1999.
Wishing everyone safe Holidays and the very best for the New Year. Happy Holidays,
Dallas R. Graves
