Perspectives in Psychiatric Care, Jul-Sep 2003 by Parrish, Evelyn

The first AGPN division meeting was held during ISPN's annual conference in Charleston, SC, in April. We identified potential projects such as developing position papers on the care of the client with schizophrenia, the client with bipolar affective disorder, and the mentally ill client who is incarcerated. If you are interested in helping with any of these projects, please let me know. I was able to meet with prospective industry sponsors to discuss the possibility of partnering with them on these and other advocacy initiatives.

We are currently pursuing other topics for a preconference at next year's annual meeting in St. Louis. If you have any ideas or suggestions, please forward them to me. As we continue to grow and develop, let me know your ideas for projects for our division.

ISPN has developed two new position statements, "Diversity and Cultural Competence," and "Palliative Care." Both are available on the ISPN Web site, www.ispn-psych.org.
