Hobbico: Flyzone Warbirds

Model Airplane News, Jun 2002

AIR SCOOP

Improvising is one of the joys of model building. Sure, ARFs are fun and convenient, but the satisfaction of adapting a product not meant for RC is difficult to beat. It helps when the product in question has all the right ingredients, such as these new, free-flight WW II fighters from Hobbico. Each one is made of light, durable foam and comes fully painted and trimmed in realistic colors and graphics. The Me-109 and Spitfire have 20-inch wingspans; the Zero measures 21.25 inches. Each plane comes with a motor, prop and rechargeable battery installed and includes a batterypowered quick charger. You can keep the stock power system for quick hops or replace it with your own micro gear. No glue is required for assembly; the incLuded screwdriver is all you'll need. The best part is, these diminutive warbirds cost less than $16 each.
