Manuscripts to honor

Dr. Ben A. Smith, Kansas State University, Professor Emeritus

The JSSR will, from time to time, be featuring manuscripts by former students of Dr. Ben A. Smith. Dr. Smith was the long time editor of this journal. His editorial expertise and scholarly research added much to the body of knowledge about the social studies. It has been my honor to follow Dr. Smith as editor. Over the years I have pondered about how, best, to honor his great contributions to social studies. Recently, I made the decision to feature manuscripts by Dr. Smith's former students. This issue includes manuscripts by Kay E. Weller and Marilyn May. Future issues will include manuscripts by other students of Dr. Smith and will be noted appropriately.
