Help! Pipe problems

BEAUWOZ: The pressure fitting came loose, so I had to remount it. What should I do to plug the old hole? RUSTLED DUDE: Plug it up with JB Weld; it will hold great.

ZOOTALAWAS: What is this JB Weld we hear so much about? I have asked at my auto store and the local DIY store, but I don't think it finds its way to the UK. Zootalaws: To all us colonials, I just researched the stuff: it is the same as Araldite -- two part epoxy. I already have it in my toolbox and it gets regular use.

Number of cuts on a P2k armature?

CANUCKSK: How many cuts can I get out of a new P2k's comm? Apparently, I must not go below 0.270 inch. So if I just skim the surface with each cut, how many cuts will this be? EXTERMINATOR: There is no way to really tell how many cuts that would be. The only way to know is to measure after each cut to make sure you stay over 0.270. It might also be a good idea to measure the top and bottom end of the comm to make sure the lathe is cutting straight and not putting a taper on the comm.

Cool names TADIUM54: Post some names that would be cool for RC cars. I thought up these: HardMass, Wildstar, Dragonstar, RPX. Post some original ones, names that were cool, or names that were uncool. NUTTER: Nutter, of course or Nutty, Nuts -- RPX thought? What's that from?

Greg Degani Joins Team Sidewinder

Kyosho's Greg Degani has signed up to use Sidewinder fuels and is probably already a favorite over at Sidewinder's headquarters; he won the Pro-Line Nitro Challenge 1/8-scale Buggy class in his first outing with the snake stuff! Look for Greg spouting praise for Sidewinder in an ad near you.

Meanwhile, across the Atlantic ... in his nitro racing debut, top Euro driver Jonas Kaerup won the Danish Nitro Touring Car Nationals with his Team Orion Wasp .12-powered Associated Nitro TC3. "Both engine and car performed flawlessly in the 30-minute A-main," writes Orion's Philippe Neidhart in his emailed press release. (How else would we know who won the Danish Nitro Touring Car Nationals?)

The local industrial supply store is where we score our stainless screws, but we have to order in quantities of 100; that's lame. We recently discovered the RC-savvy fastener-express.com, where you can buy in quantities of 25, and you'll find anodized-- aluminum hardware as well as stainless steel in metric and non-metric sizes. They also have hardware assortments and vehicle-specific hardware kits. Nice.

Jukka Steenari Joins Losi R&D

Shortly before heading to South Africa to win his second consecutive IFMAR 4WD Off-Road World Champion title, Team Losi's Jukka Steenari made the leap from factory pilot to full-time staffer. Jukka is a native of Helsinki, Finland, where he earned a master's degree in mechanical engineering and manufacturing from Helsinki University of Technology. In addition to book learnin', Jukka brings 15 years of racing experience (including eight European championships) to the Losi brain trust. And it looks as if he scammed a free T-shirt out of the deal! The Steenari family includes his wife, Maikku, who is studying to be a pediatrician, and 7-month-old son Joel.
