LAST LAP

In an effort to keep the racing cleaner and closer, one-way pulleys and one-way cliffs were not allowed at the 2002 Reedy TC Race of Champions. Should a similar rule be adopted for all national and world-championship TC events?

No! It isn't like a one-way is outrageously expensive and therefore an advantage only to drivers with factory support; I say, if you have the skills to exploit a one-way, you should be allowed to exploit a one-way.

Kevin Paine

I hate one-ways; they make my car so touchy to drive that any benefits I might see are wasted on spinouts. If I were racing at a big event, I'd like to know I wasn't automatically at a disadvantage by running full-time 4WD.

Karl Atkins

At the highest level of pro competition, there should be no restraints. Motors, tires and one-ways should all be left up to the driver.

Leonard Monroe

I think it's dumb. Many cars include one-ways. Am I supposed to spend extra money to "detune" my car so I can race it, when the object of racing is supposed to be to "go as fast as possible"? If you can't drive a one-way, that's your problem. I can.

Scott Hoffman

No. Nats and Worlds are pro events, and the pros should be able to drive whatever they want. They can handle it.

Seane Keef

I thought that all tracks were one-way tracks, because driving on the track in the wrong direction isn't allowed. Boy, the races must be really exciting when the cars are going in opposite directions at the same time!

Mark Mullan

NEXT MONTH'S QUESTION

If you could race only one class of RC for the rest of your life, which one would you choose, and why?
