Radio Control Car Action, Jan 2003 by Hastings, Bob
PASCAL VERBART, KLOETINGE, HOLLAND CORALLY C4.1
I'm not usually a big fan of computer-enhanced photos, but this Corally Cp.l painted in Jordan F-i colors was just too good to pass up. A i5T Corally motor powers the car, controlled by an LRP Quantum Pro Reverse speed control. Among the rest of the onboard electronics are a Novak XXL receiver, Panasonic 3000HV cells and a KO Propo 713 steering servo. Pascal races the Protoform Citroen Xsara-body racer during the winter months.
MIKE CRUSEN, MENOMONIE, WI TRAXXAS RUSTLER
It's little wonder that Mike writes that he loves his RC carespecially since it took the first-place trophy at the Short Half RC Raceway in Eau Claire, WI. The Rustler has an LRP Sport ESC, Hitec Super Torque steering servo and a Trinity P2k2 Pro motor, and it's finished with Pro-Line rubber and an F15o body.
WAYNE GREGORY, BROOKLYN, NY HPI RS4 3 SS
Wayne dedicates this touring car to his ii-year-old daughter, Candy, and he admits that she drives it better than he does at times. The twotone RSX features Pactra Pearl White flames with a bright red main color. The RS4 3 features a Futaba radio system, Pro-Line Sedan Hawg tires mounted on HPI R5 wheels, a Hangar 9 fuel filter, an HPI fiber disc brake and a Robinson Racing lightweight flywheel
JAMES SOUTHWARD JR., GAHANNA, OH HPI PRO 3
This is a good example of beauty in simplicity; the HPI Honda S-2000 body looks perfect with the stock decals and the one-color painted scheme. James built the Pro 3 to race in the stock division at his local track, and he has outfitted it with Futaba radio gear, a Novak TC2 ESC, front and rear swaybars, a Green Machine 3 motor and Robinson Racing pinion. MARKO PAAJAMEN,
MISSISSAUGA, ONTARIO, CANADA TAMIYA HUMMER CDR-VERSION
Believe it or not, but this gorgeous '67 Corvette Stingray began as a Tamiya Hummer. Marko replaced the military chassis' shock towers with a set of regular body posts and then fitted it with a Kyosho Nostalgia Series Corvette body and matching Nostalgia Series rims. The 'Vette now has a Reedy motor and a Novak Reactor ESC.
DOMINQUE SEIM, ALHAMBRA, CA HPI RS4 MT
How's this for a unique application of Pepsi's trademark colors? Dominque's stadium truck has a Trinity Green Machine motor, a Novak Explorer 2 speed control, MIP CVDs, Pro-Line tires and a Robinson Racing top-shaft pulley.
CLAYTON SANDIDGE, ROCHESTER, IL
TRAXXAS T-MAXX
It took Clayton only three months to turn his Traxxas monster into quite a showpiece. His truck is equipped with an O.S. CV-R engine, an MIP clutch and Stinger exhaust, lots of Powerline aluminum, Trinity shocks, Traxxas bulkheads and bumpers, DuraTrax bumper mounts, Pro-Line Maxx Mulcher tires and an F-35o body.
RICH JACKSON, VALPARAISO, IN TRAXXAS NITRO 4-TEC
Our "Accessory Overkill" project article (see the 2001 issue of RC Touring Car) inspired the creation of this Ferrari 360body Traxxas Nitro 4-TEC. Shortly after the article was published, Rich purchased every Powerline Racing aluminum component available for the sedan; he then went on to add the Traxxas graphite upper deck and Pro gears, too. He painted the body with Pactra Daytona Yellow.
