THE STOCK FRONT BUMPERS included with the Associated RC10GT and Team Losi Triple-X series cars and trucks are minimalist designs intended for racing; in the real world of bash-around play driving, a more substantial bumper is a much better match for the rocks, tree roots, sidewalks and all the other potentially parts-busting obstacles we encounter. RPM has long been the king of aftermarket bumpers, and it recently added some stylish new models to the lineup. The new front-- end protectors are molded of RPM's "guaranteed bulletproof" blend of nylons, and they easily replace the stock Associated and Losi bumpers with just a few minutes of wrenching. Each bumper is fully supported by four screws and spans 6 inches to provide ample suspension-arm protection. Molded-in rails on the bumpers' undersides provide extra reinforcement and help protect the mounting screws from being damaged. After installing and thrashing the Losi and Associated bumpers, we can say with confidence that RPM should not have to honor many claims on its "You break it, we replace it" toughness guarantee. We were able to scratch and scuff them, but even after drilling curbs head-on, the bumpers came back for more abuse.
