Stephen Powell of Laurel, Maryland, has been named 2003 NAPA/ASE Technician of the Year for his commitment to career-long learning, integrity and customer service excellence.
The owner of Thoroughbred Transmissions & AutoCare, Powell was selected for this prestigious industry honor for demonstrating superior technical skills and business practices, showing a commitment to customer service and training, supporting the community in which his business operates and demonstrating outstanding service to the automotive repair and maintenance industry.
Powell, a previous local and regional NAPA/ASE Technician of the Year, holds 36 ASE certifications and is Master Certified in five categories. He has been recertified as a Master Certified Automobile Technician three times.
"Being named Technician of the Year is such a tremendous professional honor," said Powell. "Like so many shops in the NAPA organization, we work hard, we try to continuously improve and we do everything possible to satisfy our customers. It's a privilege to represent NAPA and ASE in 2003."
