EPA Okays Service Info Website Pricing

Motor, Jun 2004 by Nash, Tom

The EPA has given approval of a usage fee pricing structure to the Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) Service Information websites. However, it has requested additional information from Volvo and Porsche. The EPA's Service Information regulations require each AUtomaker to submit to the EPA a request for approval of the pricing structure for its Service Information availability website.

According to EPA approval letters to the vehicle manufacturers, those companies "must submit a detailed description of the pricing structure and the amounts and support for the position that the pricing structure and amounts are fair and reasonable for emissions-related service information required to be made available by the regulation."
