Federated Auto Parts announces that Todd Bitner of Bitner's Gulf in Lockhaven, Pennsylvania, was the winner of Federated's 2004 Toyota Tacoma pace truck at the NASCAR Busch Series Federated Auto Parts 300, held June 12 at the Nashville Superspeedway. Bitner's Gulf has been a Federated Car Care program participant since 1997.

The APRA Board of Directors has voted to change the name of the organization to Automotive Parts Remanufacturers Association, from Automotive Parts Rebuilders Association. The acronym and logo remain the same. APRA believes the new name better describes the nature of the industry. The organization's Volume Transmission Division was renamed the Volume Transmission Remanufacturing Group.

The Automotive oil Change Association (AOCA) has announced that the second edition of its Technician Academy training materials is now available. The program is designed so a manager or trainer can periodically test a student's mastery of the units with short quizzes and hands-on demonstrations.
