Snap-on Tools Continues SkillsUSA Sponsorship
Nash, TomSkillsUSA is a partnership of students, teachers and industry representatives working together to ensure that America has a skilled workforce and helps each student to excel. With a membership of more than 280,000, SkillsUSA is organized into more than 14,700 sections and 54 state and territorial associations.
The annual SkillsUSA Championships showcase the finest career and technical students in the nation and are a culmination of local and state competitions. This year, more than 4650 talented contestants competed in 80 separate hands-on skill and leadership categories.
Snap-on Tools Company continued its 16-year relationship with SkillsUSA and the SkillsUSA national competition, which this year took place in Kansas City. The technical competition areas included: Automotive Service, Aviation Maintenance, Collision Repair, Diesel Equipment, Marine Service, Motorcycle Service, Power Equipment and Mechatronics. Snapon dedicated itself to cosponsoring these eight competition categories this year and, as part of the sponsorship, donated to each winner a professional starter tool set customized to his chosen career field.
"All the students at this year's event have great futures ahead of them," said Chris Pfaus, vice president of product management and marketing for Snap-on. "Our partnership with SkillsUSA brings together three essential tools of success in any career-competition, education and experience. Snap-on is honored to be associated with such an important organization and event."
"Snap-on's dedication to the future of tomorrow's workforce doesn't stop with our SkillsUSA sponsorship," he continued. "Our employees donate countless hours assisting SkillsUSA and other organizations and schools to prepare America's highest-performing workers for their careers."
