GM-Specific Automatic Transmission Fluid

Kendall DEXRON-VI automatic transmission fluid has been introduced to comply with the specification upgrade mandated by General Motors. GM introduced DEXRON-VI in April 2005 as the factory fill ATF for 2006 model-year passenger cars and liglit trucks. The upgraded fluid has significantly longer life than current DEXHON-III "II" fluids due to improvements in oxidation stability, friction durability, shear stability and foam resistance. The new ATF is backward-serviceable for all DEXRON applications dating back to 1949, and for all GM automatic transmissions that require earlier generation DEXRON or Type-A fluids. The company will continue to offer DEXRON-III "H" qualified products in the marketplace until Dec. 31, 2006. ConomPhillips
