Speaker of the House of Delegates and President-elect Robert "Buzz" Kerr called the House to order at 8:00 a.m.
Parliamentarian Barry Bleidt was introduced by Speaker Kerr and recognized with a citation of appreciation for his 20 years of service to AACP as its parliamentarian.
Credentials Committee Chair Gayle A. Brazeau reported the presence of a quorum in the preliminary report of the Credentials Committee. One hundred sixty-three of the 168 credentialed delegates were seated.
Speaker Kerr introduced Susan Mansour, president of the Association of Faculties of Pharmacy of Canada (AFPC), to bring greetings from the Association of Faculties of Pharmacy of Canada.

Speaker Kerr introduced Larry Nesmith to present greetings from the Pharmacy Technician Educators Council (PTEC).
As a quorum was previously established (Item 3), no final report was required.
Speaker Kerr introduced AACP President Barbara G. Wells who presented her address, "Why Leadership? It's all About Patients."
Speaker Kerr introduced AACP Executive Vice President Lucinda L. Maine who presented her address, "No Surprises."

Speaker Kerr recognized first-year faculty and first-year attendees to the meeting and asked them to stand.
Speaker Kerr called upon the Bylaws and Policy Development Committee Chair, Steven W. Leslie, to give the preliminary report of the Committee including proposals for policy statements, bylaws changes, and resolutions received to date. Dr. Leslie noted the time and place of the Committee's open hearing on committee reports and resolutions as well as the scheduled special session for discussion of the reports of the standing policy committees.
Speaker Kerr called for Joseph DiPiro, editor of the American Journal of Pharmaceutical Education, to give his report
ACPE Executive Director Peter H. Vlasses presented the annual report of the American Council on Pharmaceutical Education.
Speak Kerr introduced the written report of the American Foundation for Pharmaceutical Education.
Speaker Kerr offered for receipt by the House the final reports of the following committees of the Association:
Academic sections Coordinating Committee - Timothy S. Tracy, chair
Finance - Milap C. Nahata, chair
Consolidated Report of the Academic Affairs Committee, Professional Affairs Committee, and Research and Graduate Affairs Committee - Speaker Kerr on behalf of Patrick Gallery, Anne Lin and Way ne Kradjan, chairs
There was no other business before the House of Delegates.
Speaker Kerr adjourned the first session of the House of Delegates at 9:30 a.m.
