Survival kits
Group, May/Jun 1999
Just before departure time on your next youth group trip, give each adult leader a Ziploc bag "survival kit" containing the following items:
Ibuprofen-Someone's bound to have a headache during a trip. Start saving the little plastic bags that extra buttons come in when you buy a shirt, and put about 10 pills in each one.
Antacid tablets-Trips usually include fast-food, so add a little plastic bag containing five or six antacid tablets.
Life Savers candy-A reminder that the adult leader's help is a lifesaver for you and a spiritual lifesaver for the young people he or she serves.
A candy bar-There are times when a person just needs some chocolate.
Gum--Kids are always asking for gum, and any adult leader who has gum to share will be a hit.
Emergency phone money-Include 35 cents for a phone call.
Hershey's Kisses candy-Many of your adult leaders have left loved ones at home, so include the candies as a bedtime reminder to pray for them.
Thank you note-- Write an encouraging note to the person.
