Each issue, CyberTalk prints what kids are talking about on the Internet and offers discussion questions for small groups.
LincoInPkr-For months now, there've been news reports and articles about the [recording industry] gearing up to sue people. . . These people should have known their actions would have consequences.
Alyson05-But can you believe a 12-year-old girl was taken to court?
Wondergirl-That's sick! That law is scaring kids all around the U.S. because the greedy industry is losing money.
MXRyder710-I know a guy that got caught-he started crying when I talked to him. It was like $2,000 that he didn't have.
PrInCeSsThai-The music industry is already making a lot of money and the musicians are filthy rich!
DixieBrat-Artists aren't gonna have money if we keep downloading and stealing from them.
GottaJam101-They would if they weren't out doing $3,000 shopping sprees every day.
Onnaroll05-Artists need money to pay for tours and choreographers and producers and people like that. . . it doesn't come cheap, and that's why the CDs are so expensive.
BeachGurl220-They have like something-million dollars, and you're saying they're the ones we're supposed to feel sorry for?
XXXOOOz-If you love an artist, don't steal from them. . . I'm happy people are getting sued. It serves them right for stealing, and don't kid yourselves-it's stealing.
Skidz123-It's hard to pay $18.99 for a CD that has many songs you don't like or never heard.
Trublx2-I'm 15 and I earn $5 a week, and I don't want to be buying one CD every four weeks, so I download.
LoonyTunes0801-I've downloaded music for a long time, and I don't think anything's wrong with it. I mean, sure, artists lose money. . . but most of them make more just by signing a recording contract (without CD sales) than the rest of us will ever see.
DBDark-Greed is how the world works. Live with it or you will not survive.
MixMstr-Hey, I agree that it may be a rip-off to buy music for $20, but is it honest to steal other people's music when you're supposed to pay for it? God wants us to be honest. Let's try to be honest.
