A SKIT FOR THANKSGIVING: EXTREMELY DISSED MAKEOVER

Group, Sep/Oct 2004 by Belknap, Bryan

Jason punches Guy in the stomach. Guy doubles over in pain.

Jason: Thanks for nothing, jerk!

Jason storms out of the room. Guy slowly straightens up, waving at the audience to exit with him.

Guy: (Gasping) Quick! Everyone out before they find the garage and run us over with the SUV we gave them!

Guy runs off the set.

DISCUSSION QUESTIONS:

* When have you experienced someone who was ungrateful for something? What happened?

* What would make someone ungrateful? How do others typically respond to ungrateful people?

* Are you always thankful when something good happens to you? Why or why not?

* Read aloud 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18. How difficult is it for us to live out this Scripture passage? Explain.

* What can you be thankful for in the midst of serious trials? Does being thankful mean you're happy? Why or why not?

* How do you think it impacts God when we're less-than-grateful for the gifts he gives us?

* Why do the bad things that happen to us often outweigh the good things? What's different about people who keep a grateful heart in the midst of their trials?

* What's one thing you're really thankful for, but often take for granted?
