On October 22,1998, the North American Nursing Diagnosis Association Archives officially opened in the Burns Library at Boston College. A display of NANDA memorabilia from 1973 to 1998 was placed on view to the public, and a reception was held to honor the event. The evening also marked the opening of the Third International Knowledge Development Conference, sponsored by Boston College School of Nursing.

Conference attendees were able to view the NANDA archives. Dean Barbara Munro provided remarks and joined Dorothy Jones and Marjory Gordon in a ribbon-cutting ceremony acknowledging the official opening of the archives.
