Kusch helps breast cancer awareness

Office World News, Nov 1999

Kusch Co. may be a seating manufacturer, but they're not sitting down in the fight against breast cancer. They are enlisting an army of women designers and architects to aid in the battle.

In an innovative program called "Committed to the Cure," the company is pledging a portion of the revenue they earn from projects registered with them by the interior design and architectural community.

"It's an idea created by a woman to benefit women by engaging the work of women," said Kelly M. Thompson, Kusch's Eastern regional sales coordinator and the plan's originator.

Designed to make breast cancer awareness a daily concern for design professionals, "Committed to the Cure" encourages designers and architects to formally register their projects with the company. When Kusch seating and table products are specified, the company will donate a portion of the sale to breast cancer research. Once the order is received, donations will be made in the name of the specifying designer, design team, or firm.

Slated to run through June 30, 2000, "Committed to the Cure" will be extended indefinitely if design community support warrants.

"Here's a chance for all design professionals to join a campaign that will help every one of us," said Thompson. "It costs nothing to register the project and Kusch writes the check. What could be simpler?"
