Xerox North American Channel Group expands dealer program
Office World News, Nov 1999
NORTH YORK, ONTARIO-Xerox' North American Office Channels Group announced the expansion of the Xerox Authorized Dealer Program into Canada. This initiative is designed to provide office products and service solutions to authorized independent office product dealers across Canada.
The Canadian Xerox Authorized Dealer Program will offer dealers digital multifunction products such as the WorkCentre XD family of digital copier/ printers and the Xerox 214 Digital Printer/Copier. Also available to dealers are two new products: the WorkCentre Pro 16fx All-in-One-a digital copier/ printer with a platen-based fax, and the WorkCentre Pro 16p Digital Copier/ Printer, a networkable digital copier with PCL laser printing. Available products will begin shipping immediately to contracted independent Canadian office products dealers. The multifunction program will be expanded in January 2000 to include a more robust line of Xerox fax machines and copiers.
The Xerox Authorized Dealer Program underscores the company's continued commitment to working with the independent office products dealer channel.
Xerox Authorized Dealers are locally owned and managed independent businesses with showroom, office and warehouse facilities in one or more cities serving local marketing areas.
"Xerox has already started signing contracts in Canada with independent dealers to sell multifunction office products and supplies and to provide product service," said Jack Lafferty, vice president and general manager, Xerox North American Dealer Channel. "In the United States, Xerox has been successfully supporting a growing number of independent dealers for almost 15 years. We now can give Canadian dealers the same opportunity and access to Xerox' award-winning line of office products."
Xerox is initially targeting the Toronto, Ottawa, Montreal, Vancouver and Calgary markets. All Xerox dealer channel administrative systems and support will reside in the Xerox Channels Group headquarters in Toronto.
Michael Boadway, Canada dealer sales manager, is responsible for engagement of the independent office products dealers in Canada.
