SHOPA Foundation helps students in need

Office World News, Jun 2000

DAYTON, OH-Free school supplies will be distributed to impoverished school children throughout the country thanks to a partnering effort between the SHOPA Foundation for Educational Excellence and the National Association of College Stores (NAGS).

The two organizations collaborated during CAMEX, the NAGS trade show held in Nashville. The show attracted more than 650 exhibitors from companies offering their newest products to national buyers of college store merchandise. Many of the exhibitors donated their exhibit booth inventories to the SHOPA Foundation's Kids in Need Program.

"The partnership between our two organizations will benefit thousands of poor students nationwide, while offering generous tax deductions for many companies willing to participate," said Scott Walters, executive director of the SHOPA Foundation. "Our partnership is truly a win-win scenario. Participants from CAMEX help stock the Foundation's Kids In Need Resource Centers, and companies may receive deductions of up to two-times manufacturers' cost.
