CompTIA fosters careers in IT

Office World News, Nov 2000

The CompTIA Educational Foundation was established in 1998, by its parent association CompTIA, the Computing Technology Industry Association, to encourage educational advancement for individuals involved in information technology (IT); to improve and develop the skill and capabilities of such individuals; and to encourage youth and adults to pursue careers in IT.

The Foundation intends to accomplish its mission of fostering careers in IT by working collaboratively with CompTIA members, business leaders, corporations, government, and educators.

They also provide support for JOBS , a workforce development initiative established by CompTIA, to address the skills gap and critical shortage of qualified, entry-level information technology employees.

JOBS establishes partnerships with CompTIA members, business leaders, corporations, government and educational institutions to provide resources and programs that increase the number of individuals trained, certified and placed in computer service and support positions within the information technology industry.
