ProTech accepted as prerequisite for Minolta courses
Office World News, Nov 2000
KANSAS CITY, MO-Minolta Corp.'s Business Products Group has become the latest company to endorse ProTech, the service component of the Business Technology Association's ProCertification program. The company now accepts ProTech certification as a prerequisite for its own digital training courses.
"Minolta is pleased to offer its endorsement of ProTech," said Jon K. Reardon, director of service, Business Products Group, Monolta Corp. "We know that any Minolta technician who attends the class will find it to be a very worthwhile educational opportunity. The industry is fortunate that the association took the initiative to develop this outstanding program."
Announced in December 1998, ProCertification is comprised of three components-ProTech, ProSales, and ProFinance. Together, the components offer a complete package of tools designed to make dealerships proficient in the sales, service and management of digital, connected products. ProTech and ProSales are currently being offered. ProFinance will be launched later this year.
"We are very pleased by Minolta's endorsement of ProTech," said BTA Certification Manager Eric Shirling. "This commitment is an indication of the importance of the program to the industry. It also demonstrates Minolta's support of BTA as a key provider of technical training."
BTA has offered ProTech since January 1999. The response from attendees has been positive. "I enjoyed the BTA ProCertification class very much. It was informative, concise and educational," said ProTech attendee Randall Gray of Ropho Sales Inc., a Minolta dealership in Salem, VA. "The classroom instruction was laid out in an easy-to-understand format that even a beginner could comprehend and utilize for future growth in this ever-changing world of digital technology. I now have an understanding of basic networking that will allow me to communicate with administrators to implement a total network printing solution."
