Based on Xplor International's 2000 - 2001 Technology Directions Survey, McKee reported on the top benefits of Internet use for user companies and service providers/consultants. The top benefits include:

E-business

Obtain information

Facilitate customer service

Facilitate connection to partners/suppliers

"Connecting with customers through the implementation of Internet and e-business solutions is becoming a necessity rather than a luxury for today's enterprises," said McKee. "The solution may be as simple as e-mail capabilities with customers, or as complex as supply-chain management, customer relationship management, or dynamic statement and payment options."

Roberta McKee, EDP, will present again on Xplor's Technology Directions Survey and document technology trends at Xplor 2001, the Global Electronic Document Systems Internet Conference & Exhibit. The conference takes place Oct. 28 - Nov. 2 in Orlando, FL at the Orange County Convention Center.

Xplor's Technology Directions Survey offers a glimpse into the minds of today's top document professionals from around the world, and provides Xplor members and the document industry with a status report on current and future document technology trends. The survey covers trends and organizational decisions relating to e-business, digital printing, outsourcing, effects of the Internet on printing, top current and future investments, document imaging, and more.
