ARCHBOLD, OH-RTA furniture manufacturer, Sauder Woodworking Co., has announced plans to purchase Studio RTA of Los Angeles, CA.

The deal is expected to be finalized by early June. Sauder plans to maintain the Studio RTA brand and keep operations intact, with all employees staying in their current jobs. Studio RTA specializes in product design and development, and works through partners in Taiwan and southern China for sourcing. The company's Los Angeles operations center includes the design group, accounting, sales and marketing, customer support and a 200, 000- quare-foot warehouse.

Kevin Sauder, President and CEO of Sander, said, "Acquiring Studio RTA is one more step in our aggressive search to supplement our domestically produced RTA furnishings with imported materials that will give Sauder a world-class product offering, while leveraging our brand and distribution strength." Studio RTA' s projected 2003 sales are $65-$70 million. Sauder expects the acquisition to bring its annual combined sales to nearly $750 million.
