from the PRESIDENT of NOPA
Office World News, Dec 2004 by McGarry, Jim
Welcome NOPA members and other industry players to the new and improved re-launch of Office World News.
NOPA and Imaging Network have teamed together again to bring office products dealers the most in-depth industry coverage and comprehensive business information on the market. After a successful venture between OFDA, the sister association to NOPA, and Imaging Network for Office Furniture & Design, NOPA and Imaging Network are pleased to introduce the re-launch of Office World News.
OfficeWorld News is now the official membership publication of NOPA,
replacing Office Products Industry Report. The publication has been completely redesigned by Imaging Network, which has shed the publication's former tabloid size and is now packaged in an easy-to-handle magazine format with creative and thought-provoking design.
There has also been a shift in the publication's editorial content. Each issue of OfficeWorld News will provide our readers with information on the latest products, business management techniques, sales and service ideas,"how-to" features, and dealer success stories. What you will not find in OfficeWorld News is company press releases and job notifications. Our content is written specifically for dealers to help them tackle difficult business decisions and compete in their market.
The first issue of the revamped Office World News explores everything from technology to government contracting. The impact technology has had on the office products industry has been tremendous. The first issue dives into this arena by bringing our readers information on website best practices and CRM implementations.
As you will read in the cover story, there is a momentum shift in our industry that favors the independent dealer. The "Big Box" players no longer have exclusive access to large contracts in the federal market. Thanks to NOPA and the efforts of independents, there are millions of dollars to be won in this segment.
Future issues will continue to provide must-read information on expanding your dealership, increasing margins, streamlining business procedures, and learning how to sell. A complete editorial calendar for 2005 will be available on our websites soon.www.nopanet.org and www.imagingnetwork.com.
I would also like to take this opportunity to thank the advertisers that have agreed to participate with this re-launch.Withoutthe support of these advertisers, this publication would not have been possible.
Everyone involved with this collaboration is truly excited about the possibilities for the publication. We look forward to your feedback and hope you enjoy the premier, re-launch issue of OfficeWorld News.
Jim McGarry, President of NOPA
