DIRECTOR'S TOP 10 FOR 2003
Library Administrator's Digest, Feb 2004 by Rodriguez, Jill H
It was time for my top 10 list again, but our newsletter editor informed me that I had limited space to work with this year. How was I to squeeze in all that I wanted to about the library services and programs that I was so proud of this year? And then it came to me - I'd ask other people who would not be so verbose. At a Community Focus Group recently, I popped the question, "What is your absolute favorite library service - the one that is the most important to you?" Here are the answers supplied by a cross section of community members:
* Help from the librarians (to find anything)
* Teaching kids to love books
* A place for parents to read with their kids
* Magazines and newspapers
* Computers
* Help selecting books (from a teacher)
* Personalized service
* Can get ANY book I want from our library or an other
* Help finding scholarship information
* The books! - the money I save by not buying books!
