Hyster New England is a full-service material handling company that provides new and used lift trucks and aerial equipment, lift truck and aerial rentals, storage and engineered systems, allied products, and other material handling products. With more than 130 factory-trained service technicians and a $3 million parts inventory, it also provides service and replacement parts for most brands of material handling and aerial equipment. The company is the result of a merger in 1997 of Yankee Industrial Truck Corp. of Scarborough, Maine, and Lewis/Boyle Inc. of Waltham, both Hyster dealers.
The improper disposal of spent lead-acid batteries is a serious environmental issue. Companies which dispose of their used batteries through recyclers who use unauthorized or unapproved methods risk damage to the environment and violation of federal laws which could result in fines and possible criminal prosecution.
GNB Technologies, the largest manufacturer and recycler of industrial lead-acid batteries in North America, acquires spent batteries from users and transports them to one of its four government-approved recycling centers. There, the lead from the batteries is reclaimed and used in the manufacture of new batteries.
