USA: Johnson Controls raises dividend

The board of directors of Johnson Controls has approved an increase in the company's quarterly cash dividend to $.31 per common share from $.28 per common on share. With the increase, the indicated annual dividend is $1.24 per share, up from $1.12 per share. A quarterly dividend is payable January 2, 2001, to shareholders of record on December 8, 2000.

James H. Keyes, chairman and CEO, said, "This marks the 26th' consecutive year that Johnson Controls has raised its dividend. It is a reflection of our record results in fiscal 2000, our strong financial position, and our anticipation of double-digit growth in sales and earnings for fiscal 2001."

Johnson Controls, founded in 1889 and headquartered in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, is a major supplier of seating, interior systems, and batteries to the auto market. Its sales for 2000 totaled $17.2 billion. For additional information, visit www.johnsoncontrols.com
