New GNB tubular plate lift truck battery

Advanced Battery Technology,  Jun 2001

PRODUCT NEWS

GNB Industrial Power, a division of Exide Technologies, has added a high-powered, tubular plate technology battery to its line of flooded, industrial lift truck batteries.

Batteries with tubular plates are the most widely used types of lift truck batteries. Exide has been manufacturing and marketing tubular batteries throughout Europe for several decades and has now transferred this proven technology to GNB Industrial Power for sale in the U.S., Canada, and Mexico. GNB continues to market its GNB and Pacific Chloride brand flat plate flooded models and Champion sealed products.

Tubular technology enables batteries to deliver a larger amount of consistent, reliable power than flat plate batteries of equal size. They are engineered to deliver increased power and efficiency while maximizing battery life, and can be used with every popular electric lift truck model in Class I (sitdown, counter balanced), Class II (narrow aisle), and Class III (walkie pallet).

The batteries are manufactured in GNB's Kansas City plant and marketed under two brand names: GNB Tubular and Pacific-Chloride Tubular. Initially produced in 36 and 48V sizes and in 100AHr/plate and 140AHr/plate ratings, they will have bolt-on inter-cell connections, allowing for easier service. No open-flame welding is required as with bum-on connections.

Call GNB toll-free at (877) 462-4636 for a free copy of"GNB Tubular Batteries" (technical bulletin #GB-3971) or "Pacific Chloride Tubular Batteries" (#PC-2003).
