Fibre-electrode NiCad batteries

Advanced Battery Technology, Aug 2003

HBL Nife recently introduced its third generation of NiCad technology, making it the only company in the world to offer nickel-cadmium pocket plate, nickel-cadmium sintered plate, and now nickel-cadmium fiber plate. Each has advantages for a particular application.

The fiber electrode technology is licensed from Daug, a joint venture of Daimler Benz and Volkswagen. NiCad fiber electrode batteries are designed to give different performance rates such as low, medium, high, and extra high to suit customer requirements.

The batteries meet a wide range of capacity requirements from 6 to 1500Ah and provide improved performance in such applications as UPS systems, power stations, offshore power requirements, automated guided vehicles, alternate energy systems, and emergency lighting systems.
