NEC Solutions Signs as N-Charge System Customer

Advanced Battery Technology,  Nov 2003

Valence Technology Inc. of Austin, Texas, has signed NEC Solutions America Inc. as a customer for the NCharge(TM) Power System. The N-Charge system will be marketed with NEC's Versa LitePad Tablet PC.

The N-Charge Power System and the Versa LitePad will offer users complete mobility. The N-Charge Power System is an easy-to-use, portable energy solution for a wide variety of mobile electronic devices, including tablet PCs. The Versa LitePad is the thinnest and lightest tablet PC solution on the market, with an ultra slim profile of 8.8 inches wide by 11.7 inches long by 0.6 inches thick and weighing 2.2 pounds.

In other news, American Electric Power Service Corp. (AEP) and Sandia National Eaboratories have issued a purchase order for Valence's K-Charge(TM) Power Systems. The K-Charge systems will be evaluated by AEP for use at a utility substation. Sandia has provided funding for the evaluation program.

The K-Charge Power System is an energy storage solution engineered specifically for large format applications such as the utility industry. With lower weight and less volume than traditional lead-acid systems, it provides design flexibility and versatility.
