Advanced Battery Technology, Jul 2005
Hybrid Technologies, Inc. and its subsidiaries - R-Electric Car Co., Global Hybrid Corp., Solium Power Corp., and WhistlerTel - have begun construction on the Hybrid Living Home, an engineering and eco-space showcase developed by Hybrid Technologies.
The home combines alternative energy features with recent advances in "Smart Home" technologies, energy efficient and environmentally friendly construction techniques and a healthy living lifestyle. Electrical energy will be managed and distributed through a proprietary control system network in the home that makes use of the company's Lithium iCeL energy storage systems to provide power off-grid.

Hybrid has partnered with Enviro Custom Homes to provide both architectural design and to act as general contractors for the project. Located in Calgary, Alberta, the 6000 square-foot home is surrounded by an environmental reserve. It will be constructed on three levels and features a main floor master suite, waterfall features, two fireplaces, a walk-out lower level, six bedrooms, a nanny suite, seven bathrooms, a media room, a wine cellar, and family/recreation rooms on all three levels.
"Hybrid's Hybrid Living Experience combines a seamless combination of features including the latest in Smart Home technologies with a highly tuned eco-environment that will provide a healthy, energy-independent lifestyle," said Neil Anderson, corporate development manager.
