California

Sarah Jones, Ari Gardner and Kristin Caverly posted a time of 3:28.46 at the CIF Southern Section Division I Championships, May 14, in Long Beach. Their time was good enough to earn fifth place overall in the nation.

Tahoe Swim Team's 10-and-under girls relay of Natalie Turner (free), Alli Bratton (back), Lauren Falls (breast) and Lacey Payne (fly) broke the pool record on June 5 at the South Tahoe Invitational Short Course meet. The quartet posted a Pacific Swimming reportable time of 2:33.28 in the 200 yard medley relay. The previous record of 2:38.62 was set in 1993.

Georgia

The Warner Robins Aquanauts began their summer season with two successful outings at both the International City Long Course Meet and the Macon Heritage Swim Meet. At the International City meet, the 70 WRA swimmers earned 779 points to win the team title for the second year in a row. Abigail Cunningham won 10 of 10 events and set nine meet records to capture the 10-and-under girls high-point award. Ben Culpepper, 10-and-under boys, won nine of 10 races and set six meet standards. WRA went on to score 1,039 points to win the team championship at the Macon Heritage meet for the fourth consecutive year. High-point winners included Brigitte Gausche, Anne Culpepper, Florrie Cunningham and Bryan Lawson. Gausche set a new meet record in the 10-and-under girls 50 yard free (28.03).

Louisiana

Four members of the Crescent City Swim Club combined to set two meet records at the Regional 8 and Under Meet at the University of New Orleans March 20-21. Cada Koone, Alyssa Barre, Alexis Bailey and Breane Rykosky swam the 100 yard free relay in 1:05.44, bettering the previous mark of 1:12.15 set in 1989. The following day, the quartet smashed the 1989 mark of 1:19.49 in the 100 medley relay with their 1:13.57. The girls are coached by Melinda Lehrmann.

Michigan

The Milan Swim Club sent six of its younger swimmers to the state championships in Rockford last March, and finished in 13th place with 227 points. Leading the way was 9-yearold Courtney Roberts, who won the 10-and-under girls 100 yard fly (1:12.86) and placed third in the 50 fly (31.63). Also attending the meet were Erica Griffin, 10-and-under; Alicia Griffin, 10-and-under; Meghan Donahue, 10-and-under; Jim Donahue, 10-and-under; and Katie Donahue, 11-12.

Nebraska

Creighton

Prep defended its state high school team title for the fourth straight year-without one single victory. They came close with runner-up finishes in the 200 yard medley relay (1:39.06), 200 free relay (1:28.43), 200 free (Rob Seaton, 1:44.26) and diving (Joe Rynes, 386.35 points). Other top-six finishes were turned in by Creighton's 400 free relay (fourth, 3:18.85), Seaton (100 fly, third, 53.40), Bob Burke (200 IM, sixth, 2:03.68) and Matt Kelsey (500 free, fourth, 4:54.46). Creighton swimmers Sean Kelley, Vince Struble and William Selde took fourth, fifth and sixth, respectively, in the 100 breast (1:02.56,1:02.97, 1:03.19).

Annual East Field Regional Championships. The 12-year-old finished in the top three in all six of his events. Vincent finished first in the 200 yard IM (2:11.03) and the 100 breast (1:05.65), second in the 200 free and 50 breast, and third in the 100 back and 50 fly.

New York

The Fairport Area Swim Team broke three Niagara district relay records during the 1998-99 season. FAST's 10-and-under girls and 10-and-under boys both broke the 400 medley relay standard. The girls team of Carly Callan, Tess Dokus, Carlyn Robboy and Rachel Hesler posted a 5:42.73; the boys team (two combinations) of Chris Perdue, Connor Harrington, Chris Razavi, Aram Salehi and Jerry Woytash combined for a 5:44.47. The 17-18 girls squad of Lindsey Crane, Kelly Berghessel, Megan Stockton and Lisa Mathis bettered the 200 yard medley relay record with a time of 1:55.87. FAST had seven relay teams qualify for NAG top 16 consideration.
