With an Everlasting Love: Developing an Intimate Relationship with God. By William A. Barry, SJ. Mahwah, NJ: Paulist Press, 1999. Pp. 172. Paper. $8.95.

Then he considers the blocks that keep us at a distance: fear of God, anger, shame, and sorrow for sin. He suggests that sexuality, which sometimes obscures our path to God, can also reveal God's love. Finally, he looks at Jesus as a model for intimacy and as a means to a deeper, friendlier partnership with Abba God,
