Clantha Carrigan McCurdy, Associate Vice Chancellor for Student Financial Assistance

Christian A. Herter Memorial Scholarship

Eligibility: Massachusetts residents attending 10th or 11th grade. Student must demonstrate severe personal or family-related difficulties, medical problems or have overcome a personal obstacle or hardship. Award amount: Up to 50 percent of student's financial need for undergraduate study based on federal methodology. Application: Contact the Mass. Office of Student Financial Assistance.

Gilbert Grant

Eligibility: Massachusetts residents enrolled fulltime at an independent, regionally accredited college in Massachusetts. Award amount: $200 to $2,500. Application: File the FAFSA after Jan. 1. Contact the college financial aid office for additional requirements and deadlines.

MASSGrant

Eligibility: Massachusetts residents enrolled full-time at a state-approved college or university in any New England state, Pennsylvania or District of Columbia. Applicant must have not received a bachelor's degree. Award amount: $200 to $2,300. Application: File the FAFSA between Jan. 1 and May 1.

Part-Time Grant

Eligibility: Massachusetts residents enrolled part-time in a state-approved college or university. Applicant must not have received bachelor's degree. Award amount: Varies according to demonstrated financial need. Application: Contact the Mass. Office of Financial Student Assistance.

Performance Bonus Grant

Eligibility: MassGrant recipients who meet certain eligibility criteria including a minimum 3.0 grade point average and an expected family contribution of zero. Award amount: $350 to $500. Application: File the FAFSA between Jan. 1 and May 1.

Public Service Grant

Eligibility: Child and/or widowed spouse of any Massachusetts fire, police or corrections officer killed in the line of duty. Children of POW/MIA or any Massachusetts veteran killed in the line of duty. Award amount: varies. Application: Contact the Mass. Office of Student Financial Assistance.

Tomorrow's Teachers Scholarship

Eligibility: Massachusetts high school seniors who rank in top 25 percent of their graduating class. Student must agree to teach in Massachusetts public schools one year for each year of full or partial scholarship received. Award amount: Maximum of tuition and fees at public college or university. Application: Contact the Mass. Office of Student Financial Assistance or visit www.osfa.mass/edu/teach.

Tuition Waiver/Cash Grant

Eligibility: Massachusetts residents enrolled in a Massachusetts-supported college or university. Must be an undergraduate and have not received a bachelor's degree. Award amount: Up to the cost of tuition. Application: File the FAFSA after January 1. Contact the college financial aid office for additional application requirements and deadlines.
