General Scott turns 90

Flight Journal, Aug 1998 by Micko, Jim

Brig. Gen. Robert L Scott (USAF Ret.), fighter ace and famed author of "God is my Copilot," celebrated his 90th birthday on April 12. The occasion was marked at the Museum of Aviation, Robins AFB, Georgia, by the opening of an exhibit about his life. Gen. Scott serves as the national chairman of the museum foundation, and with his help, the Robins Museum has become the fourth largest aviation museum in the United States.

The general, whose accomplishments include 13 aerial victories, numerous books and walking the length of the Great Wall of China at age 72, stays active by flying whenever his schedule allows.
