Flight Journal, Dec 2000 by Kaplan, Ron

The 116th Bomb Wing at Robins Air Force Base, Georgia, recently held a ceremony to name one of its BB-1BLancers the Memphis Belle-the sixth military aircraft to carry this renowned nose art. Among the distinguished guests were the WW II Memphis Belle's pilot Col. Bob Morgan and the B-17 Memphis Belle owned by David Tallichet and flown in the 1989 movie of the same name.

The original Memphis Belle B-17F is on static display in Memphis, Tennessee. -Ron Kaplan
